Oregon BBQ Company Donates Food to KRKTs’ St. Jude Radiothon
Country Cares for St. Jude Kids is one of the most successful radio fundraising events in America and amongst the 200 radio stations across the country it has raised over $500 million in pledges for children of St. Jude since its inception in 1989. “We feel very strong about the St. Jude Program, and are extremely excited to be a part of such an amazing event” commented Nathan Pendley, VP of the Oregon BBQ Company. “Whenever it comes to children and the youth of our communities we always try to get involved and lend a hand however we can” he added.
The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. Children from all 50 states have come through St. Jude for treatment, and thousands more around the world have benefited from the research conducted at the facility. St. Jude freely shares its research with the global medical community, and in addition the families of those who’ve received treatment never receive a bill from St. Jude. “Its an incredible thing that St. Jude is doing for the kids as well as the families of those who have to go through such emotionally hard times… they need to be focusing on each other and recovery, not worrying about the bills and monetary side of things” said Pendley, also adding “St. Jude allows this to happen, and what a blessing it is. A true humanitarian example for the rest of the world to follow.”
