Oregon BBQ Supports Local Community

The Oregon Barbecue Company was very grateful when they picked up the call from Crime Prevention Specialist and Organizer for the Youth Citizen's Academy Brad Conners asking if they would like to help support the program and the community by donating their Award Winning BBQ for the graduation ceremony last night. "We feel like we owe it to our community to give back and help with tremendous programs such as this for everything the incredible citizens of our community have done, and continue to do, for us here at OBC." says Pendley an OBC Teammate.

This March, the Albany Police Department hosted its first Youth Citizens’ Police Academy for young people within the community ages 16-21. This program was held on five Saturday mornings, and ended with a graduation dinner on March 23, 2017. The academy was attended by thirteen participants, who ranged from sophomores in high school to seniors in college. As an added bonus for participants, West Albany High School and South Albany High School agreed to give students a half unit for completing the program.

The purpose of the academy was to give participants a “behind the scenes” look at how the police department operates and give some insight into what is truly involved in a law enforcement career. Topics included:

·         Recruiting and hiring process

·         DUII Investigations

·         Use of Force and Firearms Simulator

·         Support Division and Community Resource Unit

·         Narcotics Investigations

·         Major Crime Investigations

·         Albany Police Department Cadet Program

The Albany Police Department places great importance on building relationships with our community. They host a Citizens’ Police Academy each fall for members of the community to learn more about how the department serves the City of Albany. Going forward, they hope to host this program each spring to provide a more age-specific curriculum both for prospective career candidates and for those who are simply interested in learning more about the department.  For more information about the Citizens’ Police Academy or Youth Citizens’ Police Academy, please visit www.cityofalbany.net/police.

BBQ Fans Literally "Run From Salem" to get some OBC!

Wow... just another reason why Oregon Barbecue Company has

the most amazing fan base that any company could ever ask for!

While buckets of water came raining down from a gloomy March day's sky, two amazing women (Pictured Below) decided to train for their upcoming April Marathon by literally "Running" for some OBC BBQ! Even more amazing is from where they came.... hold on to your chairs as this is where it begins to get crazy... These incredible women trekked over 20+ miles from the north as they departed the charming city of Stayton, Oregon (part of the Salem Metropolitan Area) and made way to their favorite BBQ Restaurant, Oregon Barbecue Company!

"This is just another fantastic example of why we feel we have the best fans in the business," says Pendley who is pictured with the two women below. "The amount of loyalty and enthusiasm that our fans bring to our brand and our company is 2nd to none! It's because of folks like these two wonderful Ladies that we absolutely love what we are doing.... things like this just bring our company joy and happiness beyond description of words."

The Oregon Barbecue wants to thank all of their fans for the incredible support that they continue to show day-in and day-out... Rain or shine. The entire Oregon BBQ Company family also wants to wish these two women the best of luck in their upcoming marathon.... they deserve it!
